My partner kuldish and I have visited the reptile centre called cinema zoo. We went in and got a tour around the reptile centre. Together we held many different types of reptiles such as bearded dragons. Geckos, lizards, and snakes! One of the snakes we held were a boa constricter, it was absolutely harmless but terrifying. On the inside I was feeling a bit nervous and was shaking of fear, but I have now finally overcome my fear of reptiles. After doing this project I learned that if you use the right techniques to overcome your fears the outcome will be postive! :)

So far, my partner and I are looking forward to booking an appointment to meet with the cinema zoo workers to hold all of their reptiles and snakes. We are planning to visit sometime this week to see if we can overcome one of our biggest fears. Together we have searched up images of many reptiles and snakes to make ourselves realize there is nothing to be afraid of. We have tested some techniques like drawing our fears out and drawing funny pictures of these reptiles and snakes. The pictures we drew have helped us realize that they are just there for their own reasons. We have also questioned ourselves, why should we be scared of these reptiles and snakes? They are just harmless creatures that are living to do their own thing. We have also tried to convince each other that these reptiles will not harm us, and knowing that these snakes and reptiles are not venomous is making us more confident, and willing to hold them. Together we have fully understood that there is nothing to be afraid of and we are now committed to overcome our fear of reptiles and snake.

My partner Kuldish and I have been researching and trying out different techniques to overcome our fears from reptiles such as snakes. We realized that self-help is a much better technique than hypnosis. Self-help lets you control yourself and deal with your own emotions, while hypnosis allows another person to control you and your emotions. Kuldish and I watched many videos to help us understand that snakes and other reptiles will not cause harm to us. One of the videos we watched were  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXFofP-xcts this video helped Kuldish and I, to have a better understanding of reptiles and there behavior, also that there is nothing to worry about when it comes to handling reptiles. By watching these videos Kuldish and I realized that we only think of reptiles as dangerous things because we hear and see things that tell us they are but actually they are harmless.  Together we are still trying many other techniques until we actually go visit the reptile center, when the time comes Kuldish and I will be prepared to overcome one of our biggest fears.

My partner and I have been researching about how a person can get over there fears of reptiles, such as snakes lizards and many other scary reptiles. We are using techniques such as psychology and self-hypnosis to overcome our biggest fears of reptiles. Together we are using different kinds of methods that involve funny drawings of the reptiles. This will make us understand that there is nothing to be scared of reptiles, and they do no harm to us. My partner Kuldish and I have been researching places where we can go visit reptiles to overcome our fears. Together we found a decent place that has more than 90 reptiles and 250 animals, at the Cinema Reptile center. When we visit the reptile center we will take pictures and make videos of us holding the reptiles and overcoming our fears. The site we have visited to find the location and to gain more knowledge about the Cinema Reptile center is: http://www.cinemazoo.com/contact.html, The sites we have used to find out more about psychology and self- hypnosis are http://phobias.about.com/od/phobiaslist/a/ophidiophobia.htm, and http://phobias.about.com/od/phobiaslist/a/herpetophobia.htm. We also read many books to gain more information about techniques to overcome fears. We are planning to visit the reptile center near the end of December,  and try to see if this genius hour project is a positive outcome.

"All kids have tremendous talents- and we squander them pretty ruthlessly"-Ken Robinson

I believe this quote explains how school kills creativity, I also agree with Ken Robinson's opinion. I think Ken Robinson is trying to state that, almost every child is full of talents and creativity; as they get older they lose their creative minds. In my opinion I fully agree that school does kill creativity. I think this because
teachers pressure stude into doing things they are interested in, but not what the children choose to do. The teachers don't care about the children's opinions and they just carry on with what they like. Also when you are a little child in elementary you have all of your subjects with one teacher; but as you get older and come into high school you have a different teacher for every subject. I think this makes things tougher to keep track of, and you are more stressed. To make school a more creative place I think the teachers should ask the students their opinions, and what they would like to do, also to have small debates to get their mind running and make them more creative. Therefore teachers should focus on, not only teaching us but should focus more on what the students want.
